Terms of use
The terms for using this site.
By using CERNERE, including the recipes, guides, tools, printables and community forum, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. General information, not medical advice
Everything on CERNERE is general information about food and cooking. It is not medical, dietetic, nutritional or other professional advice, it does not create a clinician-patient relationship, and it is not a substitute for advice from your own doctor, dietitian or care team, who know your history. Read the medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms. Never delay seeking professional advice, or disregard it, because of something you read here. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (000 in Australia).
2. Recipes, plans and tools
Recipes, meal plans, nutrition figures and calculators are prepared with care but may contain errors, and food products, portions and ingredients vary. You are responsible for checking recipes against your own allergies, intolerances, medicines and dietary instructions, and for safe food handling, cooking and storage. Nutrition figures are estimates, not measurements of the food you cook. Tools such as the planner and calculator run in your browser and are provided as-is.
3. The community forum
- You must be 16 or older to register, and you must give a real email address you control.
- You are responsible for your account and everything posted from it. Keep your password private.
- Follow the forum rules. Above all: share your own experience, not instructions. Do not tell anyone to take, stop or change a medicine, supplement, dose or treatment, do not claim that anything cures a condition, do not diagnose anyone, and do not claim professional qualifications. No selling or advertising, nothing unlawful, harassing, hateful or harmful, and no one else's personal or health information.
- Posts are members' own views, not advice. Nobody on the forum knows another member's history, medicines or other conditions, including members who are health professionals. CERNERE does not check every post before it appears, but removes posts that break the rules when they are reported or found. To the extent the law allows, CERNERE is not responsible or liable for anything members post or any advice given on the forum, and you use what you read there at your own risk. A post remaining visible does not mean anyone has reviewed or agreed with it. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give CERNERE a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for display, moderate and remove it on the forum and in its backups, including after your account is closed, until it is removed.
- You promise that you have the right to post what you post and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
- We may edit, move, hide or remove content, and suspend or close accounts, when content or conduct breaks these terms or the forum rules, or to protect members or the site. Where we can, we tell you why, and you can appeal as described below. We may change or pause the forum, and if we close it we will give members reasonable notice where we can, so they can save what they want.
- Reporting and complaints: use the Report link on any post, message or member, or email hello@cernere.xyz. We aim to review reports within two business days. A report that someone may be in crisis alerts staff at once, but CERNERE is not an emergency or crisis service and cannot promise to see it quickly: if someone is in danger now, call 000 or your local emergency number. Moderation decisions can be appealed once, within 30 days, and a hidden post leaves a note in the discussion saying which rule it broke. For copyright or defamation complaints, include the material, where it appears, why you are complaining, and your contact details. In Australia you can also complain to the eSafety Commissioner (esafety.gov.au) about serious online abuse.
4. Links to other websites
CERNERE links to research sources, retailers and other sites, and forum members can post links. Other websites are not under our control. We do not check, endorse or take responsibility for their content, products, security, availability or privacy practices, and visiting them is at your own risk. Links out of the site show a warning before you leave, and links in forum posts open through a page that shows the real address. Never enter passwords, payment or health details on a site you reached from a link unless you trust it.
5. Books and retailers
Books are sold by third-party retailers, not by CERNERE. The retailer's terms, prices, delivery and refund policies apply to any purchase. Formats and availability shown on this site may change or differ from the retailer's.
6. Using our content
You may read, print and share the free material for personal, non-commercial use as described on Use & sharing. Everything else on the site, including text, recipes, images, design and the CERNERE name and marks, is protected by copyright and other laws and may not be copied, republished or used commercially without permission.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the site to break the law, to interfere with its security or operation, to scrape or harvest personal information, to send spam, or to access accounts or areas you are not permitted to use.
8. Our responsibility to you
The site is provided free and "as is". To the extent the law allows, CERNERE gives no warranties about the site or its content and is not liable for any loss or damage, including personal injury, illness or loss arising from relying on information on the site or the forum, from recipes or food prepared using it, from other members' content, or from websites we link to.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, that you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If someone makes a claim against CERNERE because of something you posted that breaks these terms or the law, you are responsible for the loss your breach caused, except to the extent we caused or contributed to it.
9. Privacy and cookies
The privacy policy and cookie policy explain how personal information, cookies and browser storage are handled, and form part of these terms.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new date. If a change materially affects forum members, we will announce it on the forum at least 14 days before it takes effect, and you can close your account before then if you do not agree. These terms are governed by Australian law, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
